"I am absolutely delighted with the fantastic skills of Desire Designs Desiree.
Recently I commissioned three Mama Mia, Abba style costumes for a performance given by myself and two friends at my 50th birthday party. It was a daunting prospect for us middle aged ladies to be thinking about taking to the stage in lycra! It was our promise to ourselves that we would find someone who would make costumes that would be flattering, original, dazzling and a joy to wear.
It was such a delight finding Desire Designs Desiree online. From the moment I had their first response to my enquiry I felt sure that we had found the right people for the job.
It has been a unique and utterly enjoyable experience working with their team. From the start it was clear that I was working with professionals who really knew how to use their skills and experience, a warm, considerate team who were determined to make our stage debut special for us. I felt confident throughout, without even meeting any one of the them, that I was in expert hands.
Every step of the process of designing our costumes was precise with great attention to detail and with much consideration for our greatest wishes, many of which some would otherwise consider impossible.
When the costumes arrived we were absolutely stunned by how amazing they were, so beautifully made and so feminine and lovely to wear. All our worries melted away and we reveled in putting them on and seeing how gorgeous and flattering they were. All three of us felt incredibly comfortable, it was obvious that our dance performance and the need to move freely had been taken into consideration.
On stage we wowed our audience with our outfits and I can honestly say that most women watching that night admitted afterwards to being green with envy that we not only got to sing and dance in but that we also got to keep such beautiful costumes. Apparently, they told us, we glittered and shone, swished and swayed and shimmied in those outfits. For us, on that stage, wearing them made us feel a million dollars and gave us the confidence and ability to give the performance of our lives.
It was a package of not only the creation of perfect costumes but it also included great kindness, consideration and a warmth in the consistent dedication that was shown towards us and our commission by Desire Designs Desiree and it is one I will always treasure.
I am now looking forward to finding an excuse to use them and their skills again."

"I had been looking for a dress to wear for Argentine Tango. I searched and couldn't find what I wanted. I met Desiree at a ball and saw the amazing Latin dresses that she was creating. I decided to ask her to design a tango dress for me. After much care and attention to detail, Desiree produced this dress for me. I love it; it's perfect!! Desiree - thank you once again."

"Desiree is an exciting addition to the dancewear scene. We were honoured to host the first show of her designs at our anniversary Stardust Ball last October 2009, which gave her the opportunity to unveil her wonderful dresses and skirts to a packed studio of keen dancers. We were immensely impressed by Desiree’s professionalism and talent, and her work was extremely well received by everyone at the ball – many of whom were keen to start ordering items from her straightaway!
Subsequently, we commissioned Desiree to design the costumes for the premiere performance of Stardust’s eight-couple formation team. She was very enthusiastic about the project and communicated well with our dancers, who range dramatically in their style, age, figure and preferences, managing to create a compromise that suited everyone. We were delighted with her punctuality in delivering high-quality outfits – beautiful dresses for the girls and well-tailored, smart shirts for the guys – and with her reasonable pricing for the large group. The team felt that their outfits added an extra layer to their performance, and were confident dancing in them, and the overall look was extremely effective during their demonstration, eliciting many positive comments from members of the audience.

"Firstly we must say what a pleasure it has been to work with Desiree on this project and also how enthusiastic and professional she was throughout. When we first asked her to design a Miss Dance 2010 outfit for Rhianne who does ballet, modern, jazz and tap we knew the dress would be something special as we had already seen some of the ballroom and Latin dress designs that Desiree had made but we did not know how special it would be.
Rhianne was given free reign to pick out colours and material and describe the kind of dress that she wanted based on the type of dance she was performing. Desiree then went away and designed it and within a couple of days we had the design in front of us. We loved it straight away and we took it to Rhianne's dance teacher who also love it.
From the time of the design to the finished article was about four (4)weeks which is amazing considering that all the sequins were lovingly and individually hand stitched. It also fitted perfectly! The dress is amazing and the quality is first class. I would have no hesitation in asking Desiree to do more deisgns for Rhianne's dance festival programme" Carole (mother of Rhianne).

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with Desiree. She has an unrivalled understanding of what a dancer needs, having drawn on her own considerable experience for her designs, so, unlike many other forms of clothing, I felt that hers was perfectly suited for the types of movement I wanted to do, enhancing rather than hampering them, and also for the style and feel of the dance.
Her bespoke tailoring means that the garments fit beautifully and feel secure when dancing, and also that they can be designed to reflect the personality, look and individual style of the dancer.
In addition, they are much more moderately priced than many other dance retailers, and are also interesting, unique looks that really stand out on the dance floor, with lovely details such as great use of asymmetry, lace, cut-outs, colour combinations, patterning and rhinestones.
The response to the fashion show of her designs that we did at last year's October Stardust Ball was fantastic - the dramatic, sexy, beautiful and radically different looks really captured people's imagination, and gave us great confidence when walking onto the floor to strut our stuff!
Finding the right outfit can give you such a boost when you're dancing, especially if you know that what you're wearing doesn't just look good, but is also designed to make you feel secure when dancing and also to accentuate every movement that you make.
Desiree designed and made costumes for our eight-couple Stardust Formation Team extremely quickly, catering to a range of shapes, sizes, ages and preferences. The finished looks worked well on everyone and unified us as a team, adding an extra layer to our performance.
I would be delighted to order more items from Desiree in the future, and can't wait to see the new designs that she comes up with!"
